Mission Statement:
To support the Jones County Softball Program through any and all means and resources available.

Booster Club Goal:
The Booster Club’s goal is to fulfill its Mission Statement by supporting the Jones County Softball program through the funding of areas of need that are not paid for – or fully funded – by the school. The primary focus is on issues of safety, enhanced competitiveness, team unity, and capital improvements.

Booster Club Officers Creed:
The Booster Club Officer is first and foremost concerned with the good of the entire Jones County Softball program and must put aside any ulterior motives or self-promotion. The officers must act as a nondiscriminatory affiliate of the booster club and communicate with the head coach in regards to any and all activities as set forth by the club and its members.

 

By Laws Of The Jones County High Softball Booster Club

 

Article I

Name

Section 1

The name of this organization shall be The Jones County High School Softball Booster Club(JCSBBC).

The JCHSSBC operates at the sole discretion of the Head Softball Coach. No decisions that directly or indirectly affect the softball program at JCHS can be made by the JCHSSBC without the head softball coach’s approval.

The JCHSSBC can be disbanded and all funds in the JCHSSBC account will be transferred to the JCHS Athletic Department Softball Account or General Fund at any time by the Principal of Jones County High School or the Superintendent of Jones County Schools. This can occur if impropriety of the JCHSSBC occurs.

 

Article II

Objective

Section 1

Mission Statement:

Article III

Members

Section 1

The membership of this organization shall be open to any persons interested in encouraging and supporting the Jones County High School Softball Program. The head coach of the JCHS Softball team is automatically a voting member of the Booster Club from their 1st date of hire until their last day under contract as softball coach with Jones County Schools

Section 2

No member under eighteen years of age will be allowed to vote, and, at times, there will be absentee votes.

 

Section 3

The annual dues shall be $25.00 per family unit. This fee is waived for the Head Coach of the JCHS Varsity Softball Team.

 

Section 4

Only paid family units and the JCHS head coach of the softball team at JCHS are allowed to vote in elections and on motions that are made in the organization. There will be one vote per family unit or paid dues members.

 

Section 5

The organization will not accept I.O.U.’s from any club member or other persons. Each member or person will be responsible for immediate payment upon membership in the Jones County Softball Booster Club.

 

 

Article IV

Vote

Section 1

The Softball Booster Club shall elect a President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. Each officer and member must be current in his/her membership dues at the time he/she assumes or runs for office.

Section 2

Two members of one family unit cannot hold the offices of President and Treasurer of the Softball Booster Club.

Section 3

Two members of one Family unit cannot co-sign for withdrawals from the Softball Booster Club’s financial accounts.

Section 4

The head coach shall be a member of the board of officers and ex official of all committees. The head coach of JCHS Softball Team must approve all votes taken by the JCHSSBC that directly or indirectly affect the Softball Program.

Section 5

Vacancies occurring in office by death, resignation or otherwise, shall be filled by person/persons appointed by the Head coach of the JCHS Softball Program and approved by a quorum of the remaining Board Officers. Such person/persons shall hold office until the end of the term.

Section 6

Terms of office for Board of Officers will be one year + a season. The year begins at the 1st meeting following tryouts and ends at the conclusion of the following softball season of the following year. Elections will be held at the 1st meeting after tryouts and new officers will officially take over at the conclusion of the current season.

 

Article V

Executive Duties

President

The President shall preside at all meetings of the organization and the Board of Officers. He/She shall enforce all rules and regulations of the organization.  He/She shall appoint necessary committees during his/her term of office.

Vice President

The First Vice President shall, in the absence of the President, preside over meetings. He/She shall serve as Chairman of the Membership Committee. If the office of President becomes vacant, the Vice President shall be responsible for the President duties until a new President is appointed and approved by the remaining Board Officers.

Secretary

The duties of the Secretary are to:

  • Take minutes at all meetings;
  • Make the minutes and records available to the members upon request;
  • Keep on file all committee reports;
  • Notify officers, committee members and delegates of their duties and to have at each meeting a list of all existing committees and their members;
  • Maintain record books in which the By Laws, special rules of order, standing rules and minutes are entered, with any amendments of these documents properly recorded, and to have the current record book/books available at every meeting and past records available upon request.

The retiring secretary shall turn over all written records of the organization to his/her successor in office.

Treasurer

The treasurer shall be responsible for a true and correct account of all receipts and disbursements. He/She shall give a written account of all receipts and disbursements at each meeting. The Treasurer shall deposit all funds collected within five banking days. No funds can be disbursed without club or board approval.

 

Article VI

Purchases and Disbursements of Funds

Section 1

The President can approve purchases up to $100.00 between meetings so long as a formal report is made at the following meeting.  The head softball coach can spend booster club funds as needed at anytime as long as the expenditure is for the good of the softball program.

Section 2

The President, Vice President, and the Treasurer shall have the ability for signatures on all funds held and disbursed through the operating, savings, and/or scholarship fund accounts.  Either signature can be used to make disbursements or transfer funds.

Section 3

Prices of articles and/or services to be purchased shall be obtained before request for purchases are submitted to the organization. Purchases can be approved by a majority vote of members present at any regular meeting.

 

Article VII

Meetings

Section 1

The regular meetings of the organization shall be held on the first Monday of the month while in season and as needed out of the season. The President shall call any meetings outside of any regularly scheduled meetings.

Special meetings can be called by the President or by the Executive Board or any committee chairman; the purpose of the meeting shall be stated.  Except in the case of emergency, at least three days notice shall be given.

Section 2

The first meeting after tryouts shall be known as the Meet the Team Meeting and shall be held for the purpose of electing new officers for the coming year.

 

Article VIII

The Executive Board of Officers

Section 1

The officers of the organization and the head coach shall constitute the Executive Board of Officers.

Section 2

The Executive Board of Officers shall have general supervision of the affairs of the organization between business meetings, determine the hour and place for the meetings, make recommendations to the organization and shall perform such other duties as are specified in these by laws. The Executive Board of Officers shall be subject to the orders of the organization and none of its acts shall conflict with action taken by the organization.

 

Article VIIII

Amendment of By Laws

These by laws can be amended at any regular meeting of the organization by a majority vote.
